Information we collect
We collect only what we need to price your project, schedule the work, and stay in touch with you about it.

How we collect it
- Directly from you — when you complete our estimate request form, call or text us, email us, speak with an estimator, or sign a contract.
- Automatically — through cookies and similar technologies on our website, as described in Section 9.
- From service providers — our scheduling, messaging, and payment platforms pass us information about the messages and transactions they process on our behalf.
- From referrals — if an existing customer refers you, we may receive your name and contact information from them. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
How we use your information
- To respond to your estimate request and answer your questions.
- To schedule and perform estimate visits and painting work.
- To send you service and transactional text messages and emails about your project, including confirmations, reminders, crew arrival windows, and follow-ups.
- To send you marketing text messages and emails about seasonal offers and painting services, but only if you separately consented to marketing messages.
- To prepare estimates, contracts, invoices, and warranty records, and to collect payment.
- To keep records of your consent and opt-out choices so we can honor them and demonstrate compliance.
- To maintain and improve our website, prevent fraud and abuse, and protect the security of our systems.
- To comply with law and to enforce our contracts.
Text messaging and mobile information
When you provide your mobile number and check a consent box on our estimate request form, you are opting in to receive text messages from us at that number. Our estimate request form presents two separate, unchecked consent checkboxes: one for service and transactional messages about your project, and one for marketing and promotional messages. Neither is required to submit the form, and consent to marketing messages is never a condition of purchasing any product or service from us.
We record which boxes you checked and when. We use your mobile number to send the categories of messages you agreed to and to reply to messages you send us. You can stop messages at any time by replying STOP, and you can request help by replying HELP. Full details, including message frequency and carrier disclosures, are in our SMS Terms & Conditions.
No mobile information will be sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. This includes your mobile phone number and all text messaging opt-in data and consent records.
Information that we share with our service providers, such as the messaging platform that delivers our texts, is limited to what is needed to operate the messaging program. Those providers are contractually prohibited from using your mobile information for their own marketing or from selling or sharing it with anyone else.
Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party for any purpose other than delivering the messages you asked to receive.
When we share information
We share information only in the situations listed here, and never in exchange for money.
- Service providers. Companies that host our website, run our customer records and messaging platform, deliver texts and email, process payments, and provide accounting or legal services. They may use your information only to perform work for us.
- Subcontractors and crews. Painters and trade partners assigned to your job receive the name, service address, contact number, and project details needed to complete the work.
- Legal requirements. When we are required to respond to a subpoena, court order, or lawful request from a government authority, or when disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
- Business transfers. If our business is sold or reorganized, customer records may transfer to the successor, which will remain bound by this policy for information collected under it. Mobile numbers and SMS consent data will not be treated as a marketing asset for sale.
The CertaPro Painters® franchisor and other CertaPro franchises are separate businesses. We do not share your mobile number or SMS consent data with them for marketing.
Your choices
- Stop text messages. Reply STOP to any message from us, or contact us using the details in Section 12. We will stop sending messages to that number.
- Stop marketing email. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or ask us directly.
- Access, correct, or delete. Email or call us to request a copy of the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to ask us to delete it. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first.
- Records we keep after you opt out. If you opt out of messaging, we keep a minimal record of your number and opt-out date so we can honor the request and demonstrate compliance. That record is not used to contact you.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy law. Contact us and we will honor any rights that apply to you.
How long we keep information
We keep estimate and project records for as long as needed to service warranties, resolve disputes, and meet tax and accounting requirements. Consent and opt-out records are kept for at least four years, as messaging compliance rules require. Information we no longer need is deleted or de-identified.
Cookies and website analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working correctly, remember form entries, and understand which pages people visit. We may use analytics and advertising tools that set their own cookies and collect information about your visit.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Parts of the site may not work correctly if you do. We honor browser Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where our tools support them.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections to our website and forms, access controls limiting who on our team can view customer records, and vetted vendors for messaging and payments. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
Our services and our text messaging program are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and you must be at least 18 to opt in to text messages. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Third-party links
Our website may link to sites we do not operate, including certapro.com and sites belonging to suppliers and manufacturers. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and this policy does not apply to them. Review their policies before providing information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will post the revised version on this page and change the effective date at the top. Material changes to how we handle your information will be described clearly. Continuing to use our website or messaging program after a change means you accept the updated policy.
